Learning English at the University ❤

My experience in taking the English course at the university was better than I thought, at first, I was scared of how it could be and how my classmates and my teacher would be, I also didn't know what the modality of the course would be like now that we are in a pandemic mode.

But all those fears were left behind, the truth is that it has been very pleasant to do the course, it is always good to practice english, I really like the modality and it helps me to be able to turn off the camera to talk, I know that it is not very comfortable for my teacher, but it gives me more confidence.

My classmates are from different degrees and it's been very interesting to get to know their university and personal experiences during the pandemic through our classes and through their blogs, they always have something interesting to say, it hurts that I can't meet them in person, but I really wish them all the best and hope they reach all their goals and stay covid free.

I honestly feel that the english course has worked very well in pandemic and remotely-mode and I wouldn't change anything.

For my part, to keep the english fresh, I try to sing songs with lyrics in english and I read reports that are in that language, but it is not the same as speaking it, I know it.

The best way to practice a language it's by speak it, but for that I would have to make a friend who spoke that language or go to a country of native english speaking hahaha …  that wouldn’t bother me. But, well... meanwhile I will continue practicing with songs.

Hello, today I will talk again about my career ... PLASTIC ARTS <3

Well, I chose plastic arts from the university of Chile mainly because of its curriculum, since it was the only university that still taught ceramics. And also, the only one that was still plastic and non-visual arts. The difference between these two is that the plastics are manual arts, painting, ceramics, sculpture, etc. ... the visual arts incorporate technological arts to the curriculum and the truth is that it is not my thing. I wanted to work with my hands straight into the material. And I was very lucky because the year after I joined the mesh changed and those of the new generation will be visual artists.

I had an extracurricular class called art and science and I loved it - I think it's perfect that the university has those courses.

As for the academic load, it is much more than it seems, since each work is very slow, sometimes a drawing can take days and the workshop blocks lasted, in times of no pandemic, 3 hours.

The part of the arts that don't tell you is that the hand is connected to the head and heart so you confront yourself with art, what is good or bad, depends on how you take it. That according to me will make the burden more or less heavy in terms of your university work.

I'm in third year, so I reached get to know the facilities, and they're pretty deplorable. It has always been a struggle fix the workshops, since many jobs have been lost due to the rains and the poor state of the faculty. Which I find nefarious

In pandemic it has been the same teachers who have moved to buy internet chips from students. And most of them have been a great support.

In particular I find that I have learned a lot since we have had all the theoretical classes, the first year we spent a lot of time in university's takes and I had almost none of my theoretical.

I very much appreciate the effort that teachers and students make in maintaining this desire to teach and learn and I hope that the best will be made of this half-rare moment.

See you

Have you thought about courses after you graduate... ??

Hello everyone

I would like to talk about the courses I would like to take after I finish my Art degree.

It is always important to continue studying, especially because technology continues to advance and if you were left alone with the knowledge that the university gave you, you would be obsolete in 5 years. If not in less.

I would like to study an artistic preservation course; I think I had already mentioned it in a previous post.

But I would also like to study from groups of ceramists, not precisely from university courses, but to have the possibility of going to acquire knowledge of different craftsmen who have dedicated their lives to the craft. They surely have something interesting to say and to teach. Since I think that studies are a very important tool, a basis, but the real learning materializes in "the doing". Mainly I would like to research about local craftsmen and then go further and see how they resemble and how they differ from other in the world.

I am also struck by the art therapy courses, to create a program dedicated to older adults.

In general, I like to learn, I think it is impossible not to learn something different every day and the best learnings do not have a degree or diploma, but if that goes, these would be my post-graduate studies .... Or maybe I venture to another degree, who knows lol .. see you soon

My future Job

Hello!! ..for those who do not know, I study Plastic Arts and I want to specialize in ceramics.

When I finish the university, I would like to have my own ceramics workshop to be able to sell my pieces, but I would also like to take a curatorial course, with this work you travel a lot, you know many interesting places. I find it very entertaining, besides it's a good way to learn history. And it pays pretty well (It has to be said).

I like jobs that require patience, I feel it's a different way of meditating.

Anyway, I want to be able to start selling ceramic pieces before leaving univers}ity, the only thing that stops me is the oven, ceramic pieces require several burns, not just one, depending on the surface technique, they may need up to 4 burns, which is expensive to do by an external. and when one puts a price on the pieces, people usually find that they are very expensive, but they do not know the enormous effort behind each of the pieces.

That's why I'd like to have these two future jobs options, the curatorial ones and my ceramic pieces. Although, I know that over time things are changing, but for now, it's what I'd like to have for future jobs. bye

Hello everyone, on this occasion I will talk about something good, something bad and something funny that happened to me during the pandemic.

For me the good thing about the pandemic, as a student, has been not having to travel an hour to get to the university. It has also been very useful to be able to review the classes, because they are now recorded and also being studying has helped me maintain schedules and activities during lockdown.

Far the baddest thing about the pandemic has been to be away from my family, there is no day I do not miss them. My nephew grows up crazy and surprises me every time we've been able to see each other. And my sister!!!, I miss those conversations drinking tea and her hugs that are the ultimate.

As for the funny, now I laugh at this, but at the minute it was terrible. Last year in a drawing class, I forgot to turn off the microphone after presenting and I was singing like Shakira until Professor Mauricio said "there's someone who's doing the domestic chores and singing," I was “that someone” and the truth that I was so embarrassed that I just turned off the microphone and didn't even apologize.

I know that for some this pandemic does not bring any good memories, more, they may be having a very bad time and with this blog I do not seek to be un empathetic, it is only sharing.

See you soon, I hope you're all fine.

 I 💚 movies !!!

I really like watching movies, I think the only genre I don't like is the romantic and the one I like the most is the psychological thriller, even though, one of my favorite movies is not of this genre.

Speaking of favorite films, I really like "the shining" directed by Stanley Kubrick and which has jack Nicholson, Shelley Duvall and Danny Lloyd as lead actors.

It is based on the ability of some people to perceive and see things that others do not see, people who have "the shining", this idea is told in a terrifying story that takes place with a family that take cares for a hotel closed by the winter season.

My other favorite film is "The Secret Life of Walter Mitty", because, beside from the beautiful photography, it shows us that we all have something valuable, unique and special.

Walter is "an ordinary man" who works for a magazine revealing photos, including revealing photos of a wildlife photographer, from whom he loses a photo for the latest edition of the magazine. he decides to go find the photographer to get the picture and goes through a lot of adventures proving how cool he is. And I can't stop mentioning the soundtrack of the movie ... just beautiful... really see it if you can.

BEST HOLIDAY

Hello everyone this is my second post and I will talk about my best holiday.

With my whole family, my parents, my sister my brother-in-law and I went to Greece.

My father is Greek and he want to show us where he grew up and some friends of him.

We stayed in Melisa, Athens, the first few days. on those days we visits the Acropolis and the museum of the acropolis. We couldn’t see the Natural Museum but we get to see the automobile museum of Athens ha ha ha ..was very cool, they even have this race car simulator that you could drive if you want. I drove it, was fun.

We went to Kalifonio to visit the house where my father born and lived when he was a child, we stayed and eat in a nearby villa call Kalavrita, well know because of the temple on the mountains, also very breathtaking. We visit the cemetery and light candles for my grandparents, that rest there.

We finish our trip visiting Mykonos and Santorini.

it was so good to see my dad in his “environment” with his language, his friends, his manners ... he even dance.... it was a nice holiday for sure.
